How to Capture 3D Panoramas and View them with a Cardboard:
Step 1: After installing this app, you can simply open it up and start capturing 3D panoramas or VR photos. No registration or sign up required in order to use this app.
Step 2: In the main screen, you will be able to see some sample VR photos which can also be seen using the cardboard.
Step 3: At the bottom of the screen, there will be a “Camera” icon using which you can start taking VR photos. Simply tap the icon to open the built-in camera of this app. Remember, you can capture panorama only in the portrait mode.
Step 4: As soon as you start capturing, the app will automatically guide you to move the phone. If you move your phone too fast, then it will simply ask you to slow down or retry. You can also enable sound for your VR photos as shown in the above image.
Step 5: When you’re done with capturing, your VR photos will be placed on the main screen of this app.
Step 6: Tap on any VR photo and place your phone gently inside the cardboard. Now you can enjoy viewing the captured photos in virtual reality.
My Final Verdict:
Cardboard Camera is a very interesting app for Android which lets you capture 3D panoramas or VR photos. After taking photos, you can place your phone inside a cardboard viewer and experience them in a virtual 3D environment. At first I didn’t understand the concept, but after using this app along with a cardboard, I’m definitely going to keep it in my phone.
