My sister has a Sony Ericsson Xperio Neo v Android phone. She changed SIM in that to a different provider, and found that she is not able to send SMS in Sony Ericsson Xperia Android phone. She was able to send SMS using previous SIM, but not the new SIM. She called up her new service provider and they said that she needs to update SMS Center, but they did not know where is SMS center in Sony Ericsson Xperia.
After a bit of research, I found the solution to fix problem of not able to send SMS in Sony Ericsson Xperia, and find SMS center in that. If you are also not able to send SMS in Sony Ericsson Xperia, follow the steps below, and hopefully this will fix your problem as well.
Solution to Not Able to Send SMS in Sony Ericsson Xperia:
Step 1: The trickiest part is to access SMS Center in Sony Ericsson Android phones. It is not directly available in settings. To access that, just go to your phone dialer, and dial *#*#4636#*#*
Step 2: As soon as you press the numbers above, it will take you to secret menu of your phone that has SMS Center as well. This menu is called “Testing” menu. In this, Click on “Phone Information”.
Step 3: In the next screen, scroll down. You will see an option of “SMSC”. This is the SMS Center of Sony Ericsson. In this, you will see a text box. Here you need to enter the number of your SMS Center. You can get this number from your service provider. After entering the number, just click on “Update”.
After this, you might need to restart the phone.
This will most probably solve your problem of not able to send SMS in Sony Ericsson Xperia Android phones. If this also does not works, try to put SIM in some other phone, and see if you are able to send SMS from that. Then put the SIM back in your phone, and that might do the trick.
