Interactive sites for education is a collection of websites related to interactive educational games, simulations, etc for K-5 students for different subjects. The website is very well laid out and easy to navigate. The homepage has all the main categories laid out in a tile format. Each of the categories is further divided into sub categories and has a huge collection of interactive games on each topic. The main USP of this website is that it provides you a one stop place for all your educational games. The website provides you links to all the educational resources at one place. When you click on a game, you will be taken to the respective website to play that game.
The main tabs that you will come across on the homepage of the website are as follows: Math, English Language arts, Science, Social Studies, Brainteasers, Art, Music, Typing, Holidays, Teacher Tools, and Spanish.
Each of these tabs are further categorized into related topics. For example, under Math you will find tools like Algebra, Addition, Division, Decimals, etc. and if you go ahead and click on a topic like addition, then you will be taken to another page with all the websites listed which provide you interactive addition games. Like shown below in the screenshot.
Clicking on one of these games will take you to the page of the respective website where you can play the game. So basically you get the best interactive game resources listed in one place for you. You can play one or all of them as per your liking.
There is a section called teacher tools which does not have lot of websites in it yet. There are 3 listed websites in it, the first one is a website with numbers from 1 to 100 on it which can be printed out and can be color highlighted too. The second website is a dice roll website, where you can choose one, two or three dices to roll. It can be used as a great tool by teachers to play math games with kids. The third website is the one which I liked the best, the website will let you create your own word puzzles in few easy steps. First of all name your puzzle, then decide the words you want to include in the puzzle, after that select a background and your puzzle is ready. It can either be printed out or played on the computer and can prove to be a good fun activity for the students.
Similarly, the typing tab has a list of typing games in it which help you learn how to improve your typing. The holidays tab has all the major holidays listed in it with each holiday having a good collection of websites which provide interactive educational games.
You can also try out peep & the big wide world and highlightskids for other educational games for kids.
The website can be used as a good resource to find interactive sites related to any one of the topics. These can be used as a good learning resource for kids. Go ahead and give this website a try.
