On the home page of the website you will see four tabs namely,
- What’s New: Contains books recommended on the present day.
- Best of the best: Contains books which are all time favorites with highest ratings and most comments.
- Articles: Read articles about best books in different categories like best WordPress Books, best crime & mystery books, etc.
- Explore: This tab lets you explore books by category. The categories are mentioned in alphabetical order.
The what’s new tab is the one which is opened by default. This tab contains the recommended book reads for the day as mentioned above.
How are the recommended books chosen?
If you are also wondering about the same, the answer is pretty simple, the website pulls data from Hacker News, Reddit, and Stack Overflow on a daily basis. The pulled data is analyzed by checking the number of times a book is being mentioned. Depending on this data the most recommended books list is created.
For example, when we are planning to buy a product, then we read its reviews and comments that it has received online. Similarly, this website relies on the comments and reviews left by readers or users for a book. If a book is frequently being discussed and is receiving great reviews than it goes up in the recommended books list.
The recommended books appear in the list as seen in the screenshot above. There is a small thumbnail of the book cover, the title of the book, author name, the ratings it has received, and the place it is available at.
When you click on the title of the book, it will open in a full page view as seen in the screenshot below.
This page will contain similar information like title, author name, place this book is available at, ratings, and category this book belongs to. In addition to all this you can also read comments left by readers at the bottom of the page.
There is a search box given at the top of the page. You can use the search box to search for a particular book by name or author.
