Like all gadget fanatics, I was also in the line outside the Apple store eagerly waiting for the iPad 2 to become available. It was quite an ordeal to actually find one. Standing in a line at 6 in the morning is not easy. But I did that for iPad 2.
iPad 2 is great, it fulfilled all my expectations when I bought it. It is a awesome thing to have. When I started using it I noticed that it has a good battery life. If you fully charge it, it lasts for almost 4 days.
Talking about the charging, let me point out another thing – when you connect your iPad with your computer through the USB cable, the iPad sometimes still says not charging at the top corner right hand side. Don’t worry – it is not a problem with your iPad.
The explanation for this is that, the new iPad 2 needs atleast 2amp of power to charge it and the maximum power a USB port offer is half a amp. So if you are ready to leave your iPad connected with your computer without any activity on the iPad it will get charged in a few hours.
The better way to do in this situation is to use the plug in power socket provided with the pack. Charging using this power socket is much faster. This will also remove the “not charging” message.
So if you connect your iPad with your computer and see your iPad saying not charging, don’t panic and run to the Apple store. Rather just use the power plug provided with the iPad.
