Reddit Comment Collapser is a free Firefox add-on to hide any Reddit comment including all the replies related to that particular comment in a Reddit post. It provides a column line (broken vertical line) for every single parent comment and you can click on that line to hide full comment threads. Thus, even if you are in between the comment threads, you don’t have to go to the top and use expand/collapse button to hide a comment along with its threads, which is needed natively in Reddit.
Normally, we can hide a comment (including replies) in reddit using the collapse/expand (+/–) button available just before the username of a person who has posted the first comment (or parent comment). However, when you are in between the comment threads (or replies) and want to hide that comment, then you need to go to the parent comment and use that collapse/expand button to hide comment including all replies. This add-on skips this hassle and lets you hide a Reddit comment including all the threads without using that collapse/expand button. Just click the column line visible for a particular comment and hide that comment including all the threads.
The screenshot above shows Reddit comments section of a particular post. You can see that earlier there were faded lines which can’t be clicked. But after using this add-on, colorful lines (broken lines) are visible associated with different comments. Clicking any of those broken lines will collapse a comment along with all the threads. This add-on obviously isn’t helpful when you are using Reddit desktop client, but very helpful when you are using Reddit on Firefox browser.
Note: If you refresh comments page or close and then reopen that page, then all the comment threads are reset to their normal positions.
How To Easily Hide Any Reddit Comment Including All The Threads of Comments Using This Firefox Add-on?
Use this link to install this Firefox add-on and then it will be ready for you. No restart is required to use this add-on. Now open a Reddit post and access Comments section. If you have already opened some Reddit post in a tab, then you need to refresh the tab.
Now in Comments section, you will notice that there are broken vertical lines visible in different colors. These lines are associated with the parent comments.
Tap on a line and see the magic. You will see that the comment is hidden along with its threads.
This add-on doesn’t provide option to expand the comment thread. For that, you need to use the Expand/Collapse button available just before that particular Reddit user who has posted the parent comment.

The Verdict:
If you want to easily and quickly skip a long comment thread in Reddit without accessing the parent comment and user, then I guess this add-on is useful for you. However, there are some suggestions that can make this add-on more useful. It should not reset comment threads when tab is closed or refreshed. Or else, it should provide option to let user decide if comment threads should be reset. Apart from that, the feature this add-on serves is quite useful and handy for all those who mostly get stuck in a comment chain and want to easily get rid of that thread. Just a click will hide the entire comment thread.
