This tutorial demonstrates how to get phone call alert when the stock price of any company rises. You will be able to get notified when the stock price any company of your rises from the current stock price. Instead of normal popup notifications, you will actually get phone call alerts for the same. This can be achieved using IFTTT and a newly added applet service named, “IFTTT VoIP Calls“. It works as an action service in IFTTT and can make phone calls for various triggers like Google Calendar event, etc.
So, you can also use it to get a phone call when stock price increases for any company. For this, all you gotta do is enter the stock ticker and current stock price of the company in the applet, and you will start getting phone call alerts when the price rises.
Note: You would need the IFTTT app on your phone to get VoIP calls when the stock price of any company rises.
How to Get Phone Call Alert When the Stock Price of Any Company Rises:
Step 1: After you browse IFTTT, go to the “My Applets” section and hit the button named, “New Applet” on the right. Then you can proceed to create the applet by selecting the trigger service as “Stocks”. When you do that, it will ask you to choose the trigger where you would need to select “Price rises above”, as shown below.
Step 2: Once you select the trigger, it will ask you to complete trigger fields to proceed. You would need to enter the stock ticker of the company for which you would like to get a phone call when the stock price rises. Then simply enter the current stock price of the selected company. Or, you can enter target stock price above which you want to get phone call alert.
Step 3: After you do that, click on the “Create Trigger” button to save the trigger. Now, you would need to select “VoIP Calls” as the action application. When you do that, it will ask you to select an action. Here, you would need to choose “Call my device’ as the action in response to the trigger.
Step 4: As soon as you do that, the “Action Fields” window will appear where you would need to configure the voice message. To do this, you can include different ingredients to the voice message like Stock Name, Stick Ticker, Price, Check Time, etc. This voice message is what you will hear when you receive the VoIP phone call.
Step 5: After you’re done with the action fields, simply click on the “Create Action” button and then enable this IFTTT applet. Now, each time the stock price of the selected company rises, IFTTT will use its app on your phone to give you a phone call. When you accept the VoIP call, you will listen to the voice message which you have configured on the “Action Fields” window.
