Xplained is a free online AI-based tool powered powered by Vercel that enables you to simplify and explain complex topics based on web results. The tool uses Brave Search and Gemini from Google Studio to provide a brief explanation of the topic in question using RAG.
RAG or Retrieval-Augmented Generation is an advanced and cost-effective technique that enhances the output of an LLM (Large Language Model) by referencing facts from a reliable knowledge base or external (web) sources outside of its training data before providing the response. Due to this the accuracy and reliability of generative AI models is augmented without the need to retrain the model.
Along with a quick understanding of the topic, Xplained also provides relevant images for a visual reference. Depending on the subject, you may also receive related videos and recent news.
How it Works:
1. Click on this link to navigate to Xplained. You are not required to register or sign up for a free account to use this product.
2. Describe the topic that you would like to know in a few words and hit the ‘Enter’ key.
3. Wait for a few seconds while Xplained processes the input and provides the explanation of the topic on the screen. Observe that any relevant images related to the topic will be displayed towards the right-side of the screen.
4. Depending on the topic, Xplained will also provide links to ‘Related Vides’ at the bottom of the screen.
5. You can scroll down to bottom of the page and expand ‘Sources’ to find out which external sources have been used to provide the response.
