02Books has a simple single purpose and the design of the app is kept minimal. It has this simple color tone, white background with a blue header. Also, there is no need for an account. You can just visit the website and start using it right away.
It has a huge text box on the left side. Here you can type the word, phrase, sentence that you want the child to read. On the left, it shows all the typed words and specifies the new words with a blue dot. If a child reads any word incorrectly, you can mark that by clicking on the word. After finishing a phrase or sentence, click the Update button.
Just below that, you get a section with word suggestions. This suggests word ideas that you can use to teach. You can like the suggestions or delete them from the section.
There is one more nice thing to this app which is word lists. This feature is under the settings where you get around dozen of word lists for practice. It also tracks your active word list as you Update each learning task in the app. Selecting a word list shows the frequency, mastery, and removal for all the words in the list. This helps you keep track of the learning.
