The Weather Network has applications for different platforms including Android, iOS, Windows, Mac OS X etc. All the apps provide you with the details about the weather. Now the Weather Network has brought it’s services to the Windows 8 platform with it’s official Weather Network app for Windows 8 simply called Weather Network App.
The app shows you the current conditions of your location, long term forecasts, hourly forecasts, and more. This weather app for Windows 8 has a really nice interface and it really simple to use and navigate through.
To download the Weather Network app for Windows 8, just click on the link provided at the end of the post. After you have installed the app, just click on it’s tile on the start screen to launch the weather network app for Windows 8 and you will have the interface in front of you as shown in the screenshot below. Just enter the location and click on the add button to continue.
After you have added a city, the app window will come up showing the details about the weather of that location; as shown in the first screenshot of this post. This window shows you the current condition of area that includes the current temperature, wind, visibility, pressure, sunrise/sunset. Also the short-term details are located to the right of the app window as seen in the screenshot.
This weather app for Windows 8 provides you with short-term view as seen in first screenshot of this post. Also you can cycle between hourly, short-term, long-term, 14 day trend by clicking on the available options. I have switched to the 14 day trend in the screenshot below which provides me with a graph that systematically shows the details about the weather.
Also, if you scroll a bit more to the right in the app you will be able to see news related to the weather. To read more about it, just click on the article thumbnail of your interest and a window will come where you can go through the whole article.
This weather app for Windows 8 provides you with the feature to add multiple locations. To add more cities just click on the area pointed out in screenshot below and then click on the add button to add more cities to the weather network app for Windows 8.
The app also allows you to pin your favorite cities to the Windows 8 start screen. To do this just right-click on the app window while you are viewing the locations details which you want to pin and the click on the pin button from the option menu as shown below.
Verdict:
In total, this weather app for Windows 8 has a good set of features and I like the way things are implemented in the app. And even with these rich set of features the app is quite easy to use and navigate through.
