MOBZPing is a free ping monitoring tool to continuously ping multiple hosts at once. With this, you can see the real-time ping status of multiple hosts and get desktop notifications when a host went offline. So, if you have a couple of devices to check for on a network, then this free ping monitoring tool will prove to be very handy. You get the option to add as many hosts to check for ping status and this freeware will then continuously ping them. It displays multiple bars with a color code by which you can very easily check the ping status of a host. The interface is very neat and clean, which makes it very easy to use as well.
It also lets you manage multiple hosts efficiently and if you wish then you can stop or pause the ping process of a particular host. You can also delete any host if you don’t want to ping it anymore. The only option which I found missing is to specify multiple hosts at once. You will have to add each host manually and there is no any option to specify multiple hosts at once. I would suggest its developer, to provide the option to import hosts list from a file as it will be quite useful for users who have a long list of hosts to ping. Apart from that, this is a fantastic multiple-hosts ping monitoring and I am now quite a fan of its interface.
If you prefer command line then you can check out this tutorial which explains how to run multiple ping commands in parallel.
How to use this free ping monitoring tool to ping multiple servers at once:
MOBZPing comes with a very intuitive interface which makes it very easy to use. The only thing you have to do is install this software from the link provided at the end of this review. After that, add multiple hosts to ping and then this free ping monitoring tool will continuously ping the specified hosts. You can add a host by specifying its DNS name or even IP address. To add a host to monitor for ping status, specify domain name or IP address and then press the “+” button.
After that, it will start pinging the specified host and you will see the real-time ping status on its interface. It displays the real-time ping status through multiple bars with different bars, as you can see in the main screenshot of this review. Green bars represent successful ping operation at that point in time and yellow bars displays that no data was received from the host at that point in time i.e. unsuccessful ping operation. If you see a Red bar, then that means a time-out has occurred. If you want to know the round-trip time of a ping then hover your mouse over a bar and it will display the time of the ping operation and its round-trip time at the bottom-left part of its interface.
As I mentioned, you can pause and stop ping operations of a specific host or all hosts at once. To stop pinging a host, click on the stop or pause button and to stop for all devices at once click on the stop button on top of its interface.
It also notifies about the status of a monitored host if it goes offline or comes back online. Its desktop notification is shown in the screenshot below.
However, there is no other option in the freeware to manage notifications. It would have been a lot better if there was an option to customize notifications. As by default, it displays notifications for every device being monitored.
Verdict:
MOBZPing is a free ping monitoring tool to continuously ping multiple hosts at once. I will definitely recommend this lightweight and simple networking tool as it lets you add multiple devices to ping and you can very easily manage these devices as well. I would really love to see the option to add multiple hosts at once and log the report of ping status to a file in it. Check it out from the link below.
