I have reviewed lots of software that can download streaming videos for free. However, one of the problems that usually come in those downloaded files is that the downloaded AVI file is sometimes corrupt. Sometimes your old AVI files might also get corrupted, and not play at all. DivFix++ is a free software that can repair corrupted AVI files. It also allows you to preview partially download video files.
DivFix++ is a free and open source software. DivFix++ repairs broken AVI file streams by rebuilding index part of file. This is very useful when trying to preview movies which has no index part, like some files are currently downloading from ed2k (eMule) or bittorent networks. DivFix++ is specially designed for preview video download files from P2P networks. If you use eMuLe/aMuLe, you can directly select DivFix++ executable as your “Preview Application”.
DivFix++ has a nice and easy to use interface. The various options are available in form of buttons. It also comes with a command line option which is good for advanced users.
DivFix++ provides options to leave the original video file intact, preview the repaired file in some temporary location, and delete after repairing. DivFix++ also provides option to cut out bad parts so as the fix the video with good parts. Once you have repaired the video file, you can even use your favorite media player to view that file.
DivFix++ works well, and lets you easily preview any incompletely downloaded video file. If you have a scratched disk that you are trying to play, you can try free software Copy Cat.
