Skype’s “Meet Now” button is now available in Microsoft Edge and you can use it to host Skype meetings in 1 click. Microsoft has added the Meet Now button on New Tab page of the new Edge browser and it directly creates meeting for you and you can invite the participants. It directly takes you to create meeting page where you can quickly set up the meeting room. It works with Skype and currently not available for everyone. But by the end of this month, Microsoft will roll out this feature to all Edge users. The feature came after Microsoft added the same button in Windows 10 Taskbar in the recent update.
If you use Skype for video calls or hosting meetings then you can now create a meeting with up to 50 people in just one click. No need to open Skype and manually create a meeting. The Meet Now button will directly take you to the start meeting page. Wherever you are, you can just host a meeting and the meeting room will live up to 24 hours. If you already have Meet Now button on Taskbar then consider this as one more new alternative. The best part about the meeting room you create here is that it will not require any download or sign up for your participants.
How to Host Skype Meeting in 1 Click with Microsoft Edge’s New Meet Now Feature?
Using this feature is very easy. But As I have already mentioned there it is not available for everyone. It is rolling out slowly and when it finally arrives to public then you will see the Meet Now button on the New Tab page of Microsoft Edge. It looks like as shown in the screenshot below.
After you click on the Meet Now, it will instantly take you to Skype Web. You will land directly on start meeting page where you can configure the meeting parameters. Just configure your audio and video devices, copy the meeting URL and share with the participants.
That how simply it is now to create Skype meetings. It will be useful feature of regular Microsoft users. I have this feature in the latest Edge release and you may have to if you are a frequent Skype and Edge user.
Closing thoughts
Skype meetings are very good alternative to other video conferencing tools out there. And with the new Meet Now feature in Windows 10 and now in Edge, Microsoft has made it very easy to host meetings. If you often use Skype meetings then now create one in just one click.
