Once shared, you have to wait until the person to whom you provided the link clicks on it. When the other person clicks the shared link, the website homepage will be replaced by a video chat screen. At the beginning, it asks permission to access your mic and webcam. Give the permission, and start have a video chat with your friend.
You can end the chat by clicking on the ‘End Button’ at the bottom of the screen or by simple closing the tab containing the video call.
Chrome Extension
The website also provides an extension for Chrome browser which allows you to make a video call without the hassle of opening the website. It can be installed by clicking on the ‘Chrome Web Store’ at the end of the homepage. Once installed you can see a video chat icon

The web based application did not properly in Firefox for me. It asked me to update my browser in order to use it, even though my Firefox browser is up to date. Awsometalk.com allows only video chat; no text chat can be done using this website. At a time only two person can video chat. To have all types of chat you can use other websites like Youcams or you can try similar website like appear.in which allow 8 people at a time to have video conferencing.
