WARP is a free desktop VPN by Cloudflare you can use to have secure and private internet for your home of office. Here it is an extension to Cloudflare’s secure DNS, 1.1.1.1. It routes the internet traffic from your PC through secure Cloudflare servers and also provides you a secure DNS, so an outside can’t snoop into your browsing activities.
WARP was already available for mobile devices earlier, but now you can use it on desktop. The new WARP desktop VPN can be installed on Windows and MAC, so you can be on a fast and secure network. The client software that it offers lets you configure WARP to only use the DNS or you can use VPN with DNS.
The free plan of WARP is just generous enough for personal use. There is a paid plan for it as well and it is called WARP+. That is even faster, but free one is good as well. In just a simple click, you can activate it and the best part is that there is no sign up or registration required in order to set it up.

Just go ahead and download Cloudflare WARP. Next, you just install it and launch it. For this post, I will be using it on a Windows PC so after installation, you can find it in the system tray of Windows. Initially, it has an inactive icon, but you just click on it to bring its main UI.
To connect to the Cloudflare VPN, just enable it. When the switch turns colored, then you are ready to browser the secure internet.
After connecting to the Cloudflare DNS, you can check your location as it assigns you a new IP.
There are some settings you can choose. It supports 1.1.1.1 configuration only. This is useful in case you only want to use the secure Cloudflare DNS. Just right click on its system tray icon and then select the correct configuration.
This is it. In this way, you can install and use Cloudflare WARP on Windows PC. You can follow the similar process on macOS and I hope they drop a Linux client as well in the future updates. After you are done with VPN, you can just turn it off. To do that, just slide the switch from its main UI after that, you will fall back to your default ISP’s network.
