I decided to look up the usual widgets that most people would find useful, weather, news updates, to-do list, hardware monitoring and stock ticker trackers. They will all help you pimp up your desktop and make it look more lively, and not dull and uninteresting which is how Windows 10 looks by default, if we’re being honest.

Hearing about Yahoo! Widgets will bring back flashbacks from the past because this widget multi-pack was very popular back in the day, and what’s great is that you can also use it on your Windows 10 powered machine.
Available widgets include a weather widget, clock widget, stock market ticker, and much more. Pretty much everything mentioned in the introduction is covered with this desktop widget software.

Rainlendar
Rainlendar will give you a fully featured to-do and calendar management system for you Windows 10 desktop, packed with widgets for the desktop.
Widgets have 4 components, a calendar, a list of events, to do list and an overview at the bottom of upcoming events and the to do list items. Right click on the widget loads up a menu for adding new items, managing existing ones and tweaking other options. Application also adds a system tray icon for quick access.

Rainmeter
Rainmeter is another multi-pack of widgets, and desktop skins that you can use to beautify your Windows 10 desktop.
On the image above I’m managing the default set of widgets which are mostly focusing on system monitoring. Additional widgets can be found online (for weather, special application launchers and more), but the ones available in the default installation mostly focus on things like CPU activity, memory usage, disk usage, network load, etc.

Desktop Ticker is small one line type of widget for your Windows 10 desktop which will help you keep track of RSS feeds.
News updates from the RSS feeds that you keep track of will stream in a single line. Direction of the stream can be controlled and also the speed. Widget can be positioned anywhere on the desktop. Stock tickers are also supported, so it’s an all in one solution for anyone interested in news and keeping track of stock prices.

Free Stocks Ticker is another desktop widget software that offers both RSS feed and stock ticker tracking. By default it’s placed as a single strip at the bottom of the desktop.
