Well, the game is flat simple. But, is sure fun. It does really checks how good are your reflexes and how fast can you make a decision. The gameplay is pretty good. And there are variations in the gameplay while playing the game. Sometimes you’ll get simple platforms aligned in a straight line, just one above another; making you do nothing, so you might end up getting relaxed. But, suddenly you’ll start getting platforms that are so far to each other, that it becomes difficult to reach to a safer higher platform. This a fact that makes the game challenging but fun.
From the twist and turns perspective, the game is really simple. There are no such twist and turns, or any complicated rules. All you have to do is help the bird reach the highest platform possible. And you can do that by directing the jumps of the bird using the left and right keyboard arrow keys. And, like I mentioned above, landing on a higher platform safely gives you points. So, the higher you go, the higher your scores will go. The previous best and current game scores are shown at the bottom of the screen. So you can actually see how well you are doing, and how more up you need to go in order to break the previous best.
Keep jumping safely and try to land on the platform, because if you fall off the screen you’ll die and the game ends. The game restarts from the very beginning with zero score.
I liked the fact that game quickly resumes, once you die. Hence removes all those cumbersome steps of going back to Main screen and restart the game, again. Also, this Windows 8 game app cleverly repeats the platforms and you won’t even realize that there’s any repetition. This Windows 8 game app runs smoothly, without any lags or crashes. And there is a good sync between the keys controls and the game actions.
