Unfurlr is a free iPhone QR code scanner app with inbuilt domain analysis report feature. Using the domain analysis report feature, you can easily check the reliability score of the URL to which the scanned QR code redirects. Most of the QR code scanner apps directly open the URL, so you don’t know on which web page you are going to land. Hence, you can use this app as the safety measure to avoid threats.
The domain analysis report displays Trustworthiness, Child Safety, Overall Confidence, and Overall Reputation (in %). The app displays some other parameters as well, but they have to be accessed via Safari browser. Other than QR code scanning, you can also check domain analysis report by entering the URL manually.
Using this iPhone QR Code Scanner App with Domain Analysis Report:
On launching the Unfurlr QR code scanner app, you will see the interface of the app as shown below. You can see that the app has two options, as shown below: URL and QR. The URL option is for typing the URL manually while the QR option is for scanning the QR code.
When the app completes the processing part, you will see the domain analysis report as shown in the screenshot below.
The app displays the complete original URL to which the scanned QR code points. For that URL, you can see the Overall Confidence and Overall Reputation. The Overall Reputation is displayed in percentage. You can choose to visit the URL from within the app.
All the domain analysis are brought up to you via Web of Trust. Within the app, you can check the Trustworthiness and Child Safety score. All the scores are displayed to you out of 100. There are few more parameters which the report includes, but you can’t access them from within the app. You can read completed report from your Safari browser.
Besides this iPhone app, Unfurlr also has a website which lets you test the URL reliability score from your PC browser.
