Aiseesoft Video to GIF Converter is a free software to convert video to animated GIF format. This free video to gif converter can also batch convert videos to GIF. Additionally, the videos can be edited out in terms of length, area, and color. Watermarks can also be added to protect the GIF from unauthorized use. Moreover, users can merge different segments of the same video into a GIF.
Aiseesoft Video to GIF Converter supports more than 200+ input formats which includes MP4, 3GP, AVi, MOV, FLV, etc.
With all the above mentioned functions, meme and GIF lovers can rip out famous videos online and convert them into GIF very easily. There are a lot of video to GIF converters out there but none support a wide range of video formats. They also lack trim/crop and watermark functions. Aiseesoft Video to GIF Converter covers all the above deficiencies effectively.
Alternatively, GIPHY has a free online video to GIF converter that you can use. Go check it out!
Let’s take a better look at Aiseesoft Video to GIF Converter.
How to Convert a Video to GIF using Aiseesoft Video to GIF Converter
Like most of the ‘X format to Y format’ converters out there, Aiseesoft Video to GIF converter piles up a list of videos to convert on the interface. Before you convert a video to gif, make sure the video is short and concise. I ripped off a funny 4 second clip from Family Guy.
Users can add files by clicking Add File above the list. Multiple files can be selected individually, or you can select a whole folder with video files for batch conversion. As mentioned before, you can choose files of almost any media format, even audio files like WAV, AAC, AIFF, etc. I have no idea why Aiseesoft incorporates audio formats since the converter does not support audio files. And besides, GIFs are not supposed to have audio (just an opinion, embedding audio in GIF is possible, lookup the web!).
On this free video to GIF converter, the preview of the video can be seen on the right where you can also take a snapshot of the playing frame. I noticed that it is possible to merge multiple video files in one gif. Select the files to be merged and click Merge at the bottom of the list. You can make changes in the conversion panel at the bottommost panel.
Before you press the big blue Convert button, you should check out the Clip and Edit features if you want to make changes in the converted GIFs.
How to Edit GIF Before Conversion in Aiseesoft Video to GIF Converter
To make length related edits in the video, click Clip after selecting the video you want to clip. You can use the slider to select the specific portion of the video you want to crop and use. A feature I love here is the ability to merge multiple cropped segments.
The Edit option lets you add watermarks, crop video area and make color/brightness changes. Playing around with the saturation, brightness and contrast can help liven up dull videos. Watermarks can be added as text or an image from your computer. Text watermark can help make memes if you choose the ‘Impact’ font with white text color.

Final Words
Aiseesoft Video to GIF converter works smoothly and works great. But I found its claim to support 200+ formats a bit far-fetched. It doesn’t support audio embedding as audio formats are included in the list of supported formats. However, the function to merge multiple different segments of the same video in a GIF is really useful. I award 4.2 stars to Aiseesoft Video to GIF Converter.
