This tutorial explains how to automatically download a song or track liked on SoundCloud to Dropbox.
Whenever you will add a song to your Favorites on SoundCloud, it will start downloading to your Dropbox account automatically. It can be done using IFTTT service.
IFTTT is very handy to serve different purposes using its great recipes, like backup Instagram photos to Google Drive, post Pinterest pins to Facebook, etc. In this tutorial, I have covered one of those recipes to successfully perform this task. However, you should keep two things in mind:
- Only those liked tracks that come with Download option on SoundCloud will be added to Dropbox.
- If a track doesn’t have direct download link, then only the source page link of that particular track will be downloaded to your Dropbox account.
In above screenshot, you can see the links of tracks and downloaded tracks using the IFTTT recipe.
How to Automatically Download a Song Liked on SoundCloud to Dropbox using IFTTT Recipe?
Follow these steps:
Step 1: Click this link to open the homepage of recipe used by me for this task. You must sign in or it will prompt you to sign in to IFTTT while adding the recipe to your account.
Step 2: Connect your Dropbox and SoundCloud accounts (known as Channels in IFTTT). That means, you have to sign in to both accounts (one by one) and authorize IFTTT service to access your accounts.
Step 3: When both accounts are connected with IFTTT, tap on Add Recipe button. After this, recipe will be added to My Recipes menu of your IFTTT account.
Step 4: Now open SoundCloud and search for a song that provides download option. After this, you simply need to tap on Like button. That song will be added to Favorites of your SoundCloud account and it will also start downloading to your Dropbox account.
Step 5: Open your Dropbox account and you will find SoundCloudLikes folder. That folder will contain all the songs downloaded by this recipe.
That’s all you have to do!
Conclusion:
This IFTTT recipe is really great to backup all those SoundCloud tracks on Dropbox, which are liked by you. So even if your Favorites list is deleted or any song is removed from that list by mistake, you can access those tracks from your Dropbox account.
